Secret #4 - Make separate AdGroups for each keyword within
Google Adwords
Google Adwords lets you create up to 25 campaigns per
account, with up to 100 AdGroups per campaign as of this
writing. It's important to organize your keywords into
separate AdGroups to maintain finer control over the ad text
for each keyword. If you had one AdGroup for the following
keywords: 'widgets', 'plastic widgets', and 'wooden
widgets', then the ads created for that AdGroup would have
to apply to all of the above keywords.
If your ad text reads: "50% off all plastic widgets" and
this ad is showing for the other keyword phrases in the same
AdGroup, then someone searching for 'wooden widgets'
probably will not be inclined to click on your ad that is
focused on people searching for 'plastic widgets'.
The way to be sure each ad is focused on the exact keyword
phrase being targeted is to have a separate AdGroup within
your Google Adwords account for each keyword phrase, and ad
text that exactly matches that phrase. For example, an
AdGroup named 'Plastic Widgets' with the keywords 'plastic
widget' and 'plastic widgets' can have an ad with text that
reads "50% off all plastic widgets" and the people searching
for 'plastic widgets' will see the ad most relevant to their
search term. Create a separate AdGroup for 'wooden
widgets', etc. Now you can create ads with text that
matches the exact keyword phrase for which people are
searching.
Secret #5 - Run tons of keywords in Google Adwords
Most people that have Google Adwords accounts find the top
keyword phrases for their industry and run ads for only
those keywords. This is a big mistake. The top keywords
are the ones that have the most competition and also the
lowest click-thru rates. Smart Google Adwords marketers
know that the more specific a keyword phrase is the more
people will click on the ad. People that search for a
keyword like 'widgets' are more likely to skip over an ad
targeting such a broadly targeted keyword. However, 'large
plastic widgets' is much more of a refined search and there
are far fewer advertisers with ads that target that phrase
so you get the double benefit of having fewer ads in
competition with yours and you can also run ad text that
exactly matches that keyword phrase!
Doing keyword research and compiling a large list of
keywords may be time consuming, but you will run rings
around your competition if you are willing to do what they
are not.
Secret #6 - Split-test your ads in Google Adwords
As mentioned in Part 1 of this series of articles on Google
Adwords, it is critical to split-test your ads. Google
Adwords has a built-in feature that lets you automatically
rotate the appearance of your ads so different ads can be
shown an equal number of times (or weighted more heavily
toward the ad that gets more clicks if you prefer - you can
change this in the campaign settings). The benefit of this
approach is that you will be able to see which ad gets a
better click-thru rate (CTR).
Since Google Adwords rewards a higher CTR with lower cost
per click (CPC), it is crucial that you know which ad has a
better CTR. Sometimes just swapping the ad text that
appears on lines 2 and 3 will make a big difference in your
ad performance.
Secret #7 - Improve your ads in Google Adwords
So what do you do if you find that after split-testing two
different ads a clear winner emerges? Simple. Chuck the
lower CTR ad, keep the winner, and create a new ad to
split-test against the current reigning champion. By
following this split-test strategy, you will constantly be
improving your ads CTR and lowering your CPC.
How do you know when a clear winner has emerged? Is it
enough to have two ads that both have received 10 clicks
each? Or should you wait until you have 100 clicks each
before making the determination that one ad is superior to
the other? Statistically, a total of 100 clicks between the
two ads will mean the answer is fairly certain, while 200
clicks between both ads is an almost definite certainty.
What's stopping you from finding qualified, motivated buyers
and getting them to your website when they are ready to buy?
There is no better marketplace for this steady stream of
valuable traffic than with Google Adwords. By employing the
tips and strategies outlined in this series of articles, you
will be armed to the teeth to convert those hard earned
dollars spent on Google Adwords into profits for your online
business!

What is the Google Dance?
www.sitetube.com
As with any good web developer, the ability to time the changes Google will update your website and refresh the content for better SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is in your favor. Welcome to the world of “Google Dance”. The Google Dance is simply that the predetermination of when the actual update will commence.
What really happens is Google sends out spiders to crawl the Internet, usually done to DNS (Domain Name Servers), upon spidering all of the available tables it begins to go through each individual site and updates the content on to Google.com. Thus if you watch your rank on the Google Toolbar, you can tell when your overall page rank has changed.
Understanding SEO and what is necessary to improve your overall ranking. Webmasters have been looking for ways to increase the odds of guessing when the next spidering would commence. There are various versions and servers that go out and crawl thousands of servers at a time, it takes time to relay and decipher this information back to the web server that Google.com pulls its information from.
Some vendors have created programs that actually go out to the data centers themselves to find out approximately when the last index was kicked off. Depending on the information returned from the trace the exact time and date are pinpointed. Is there really that much of an advantage to doing it this way? It depends, if you have a vital update that you want to optimize your site, you may want to know when the last time Google visited your site for content to keep information fresh and relevant.
There are many data centers that Google uses to spider across the world. Each center has a specific region it covers and all the information is gathered in aggregate and returned back to populate Google.com. With this many data centers the chances for continuous indexing is good, but not guaranteed.
10 Inside Secrets to Google Adwords - Part 1
Let's face it... Google Adwords is not the only source of traffic
on the internet, nor is it free. However, if you cannot convert
the traffic you get from the pay-per-click traffic on Google
Adwords, your site surely won't convert the casual visitor who may
or may not be ready to buy what your are selling.
When spending money for pay-per-click (PPC) traffic, whether it is
from Google Adwords, Overture, or a 2nd-tier PPC network, the key
is to track your traffic to see if it converts into sales. There
are many software products and online services that can track your
traffic. For a recommendation, visit:
http://www.superiormarketingpartners.com/adtracking.html
Many people that have tried Google Adwords have lost their shirt,
so to speak. Some keywords on Google Adwords are cheap (keyword
phrases start at a nickel per click). Some keyword phrases on
Google Adwords can cost tens of dollars per click. If you end up
paying high per-click prices on Google Adwords and don't sell a
high-ticket item on your site, even the most enviable sales
conversion rate won't turn a profit.
There are several tricks to advertising on Google Adwords that
unless you know them, it becomes almost impossible to turn a
profit on your advertising.
Secret #1 - Only bid on exact match keywords
Google Adwords has a few different 'keyword matching options'
available. When a keyword is placed in brackets like this:
[keyword], it is called an 'exact match.' This means that only
when someone enters that EXACT keyword phrase will your ad appear.
It might occur to you that by limiting your keyword(s) to only
exact match, you are eliminating all those people that may be
searching for the phrase "cheap widgets" or even "widget"
singular, since only the keyword "widgets" plural is an exact
match. Believe me, this is exactly what you want. Sure, it will
take extra time to create an adgroup within the Google Adwords
system for each keyword phrase you want to bid on, but you will
know with 100% certainty which keyword(s) are converting into
sales this way. If you do NOT use the exact match option in
Google Adwords, then there is absolutely no way to know which
keyword(s) are resulting in sales on your site.
Secret #2 - Bid to be in position #2 or 3
When someone searches on Google for your keyword, the first page
of search results are going to reach the most people. What you
want to do is position your ad in one of the top 3 spots. You
don't want position #1 necessarily, because that position costs
the most and doesn't give you much more benefit than being in
position 2 or 3. You pay less for these spots than position 1 and
gain most of the benefit.
By being in one of these top spots, your ad gets a higher
'click-thru rate' (CTR). This is good is because the Google
Adwords system actually rewards you for having an ad with a high
CTR by charging you less per click! Google Adwords exists to
make money for Google. If they have two companies advertising for
the same keyword, and your ad pulls a 10% CTR and your
competitor's ad for the same keyword pulls a 5% CTR, then Google
Adwords makes more money from your ad. Google Adwords rewards you
for this higher CTR by charging you less per click than your
competitor!
Secret #3 - Negatively qualify your ads
Admittedly, the problem with having an ad that has a great CTR is
that it gets a lot of clicks! Unless your traffic converts into
sales, it's hard to turn a profit on your Google Adwords ads. The
key is to put words in the ad that DISCOURAGE people from clicking
on the ad unless they 'pre-qualified' to convert to a sale. For
example, if you have site that sells widgets that cost $10.00
each, then put something in one of the lines of text in your ad
like 'Widgets cost only $10.00.' The only catch is that if your
ad isn't getting a very good CTR in the first place, then a
negative qualifier is only going to reduce your CTR.
Your next step? There are many more techniques to learn that will
increase the profitability of Google Adwords campaigns. The above
tricks will start you off towards making Google Adwords work for
you. Check back for Part 2 in this series. You can get a

What is The Google Toolbar?
By Jakob Jelling
www.sitetube.com
No matter what browser you may want to use, you should consider using Google’s toolbar. Google.com, the innovative, stripped-down, add-free search engine that has taken the web by storm has provided an innovative interface through most web browsers; mainly Internet Explorer. This toolbar has many great features for searching around the Internet as well as blocking those annoying Pop-up ads that scream “BUY ME!” every twenty seconds.
Anyone can go to toolbar.google.com and download this great plug-in for your browser. There are various features that come with using it that you may or may not wish to employ. Taking a few minutes before you install it will definitely save you time later on.
Google Search Web
In this interface you can type in keywords, terms, phrases as well as URL’s (Universal Resource Locators) and away you go. By harnessing the Google engine you magically fly through their portal to your destination. You will render a Google search or a direct shot to your URL.
PageRank
With any good toolbar, Google let’s you know how important it thinks the site you are looking is. This rank is rated from 1 – 10, 1 being a very light, low-traveled website and ten which is a site like Google where millions of people visit each day. Your page rank is determined by several factors, keywords, keyword in URL, and reciprocal linking. Reciprocal linking alone buys the user a popular rank as Google looks favorably at websites that share good karma. The larger the number of websites pointing to your site will ultimately help you rise up through the ranking status.
Pop-Up Blocker
You get them, we all get them, those nasty pop-up ads that ask you to lose weight or tell you how to increase your libido. These advertising snippets have become annoying to the point that some websites you cannot even get on because you can be barraged by a plethora of pop-up ads. The Pop-Up Blocker plug-in allows you to receive little if no pop-ups. Google designed this plug-in as an approach to invasion free web surfing. Every time a pop-up rears its ugly head, POW! Add another pop-up to the counter. It actually tells you how many pop-ups the toolbar has thwarted.
BlogThis!
An interesting technology that was designed in the late 1990’s and recently purchased by Google. Blog This! Allows the user to create a private or public diary or workspace to share ideas, search for people, create discussions and just jot down information. These blog’s have become infamous over the past few years and Google has purchased the leading company in the boom.
Autofill capabilities
You may have been looking up a specific keyword or term and found a result that you liked. The Autofill capabilities cache your searching information for present as well as future use should you need to call up previous search requests.
As you can the Google toolbar displays many great features and technologies that you can harness in a few short clicks. The technology involved has far surpassed any other search engine on the planet.

Blogs: The Hidden Ace Up Your Sleeve
by Van Whitsett
If it wasn't for my blog, I wouldn't make any online sales at all.
It's true that I have a "regular" website, my so-called "main website," which I first set up to sell my goods, in this case, men's and women's health products. It's my workhorse, the source of most of my revenue. Most of my sales resulted from generic listings in the search engines, particually Google.
That is, until Google sandboxed me.
Some of you may have heard of the legendary Google sandbox, sometimes called, "The Goggle Sandbox Effect." What happens is that newly listed sites rank well for about two to three weeks, then suddenly drop off the radar screen. These new sites are placed in a type of probational sandbox, away from the "real" sites.
Why does this happen, you ask? There are almost as many theories as there are SEO (Search Engine Optimization) experts. Many believe that this probation period is not related to the sites themselves, but to their links. It is believed that back link (pure link popularity) credit is placed in a reserve for a period of time (2-4 months) before it is applied to ranking and has an effect. The theory behind this is to combat PR (Page Rank) purchasers from dominating PR from the beginning. It is meant to deter spam websites.
Others believe this alleged filter that is placed on new websites is an illusion. These skeptics argue that the phenomenon merely echoes already existing Google algorithm calculations.
Whatever the reason, I got sandboxed, the rug pulled out from underneath me; shiskobobbed. The high-ranking and sales that I was receiving from my site suddenly plummented.
I was devastated. What's a poor boy to do now?
Desperate, I wrote to a number of online SEO forums, seeking advice from the SEO gurus. Some thought it was amusing and laughed in my face. Others offered advice such as forgetting about Google for awhile and optimizing my site for the other search engines (not a bad idea). Others thought that I should continue adding content, since content is king as far as the search engines are concerned. Still others thought I should try to gain as many quality links as I should, and this would help pull me out of the sandbox (it felt more like quicksand to me.)
I committed to doing all these things, but in the meaintime, what about my website and the products that I was trying to sell, the money I was hoping to make?
I kept hearing about blogs, those personal websites that are published on the Web. As you probably know, blogs contain philosophical reflections, talk about social issues, and opinions about everything under the sun. They are usually presented in journal style with a new entry each day, or almost every day.
Some people have found out that blogs can also be used to sell products. In fact, an entire industry has evolved around commerical blogging and ways to market them. Some of these commerical blogs appear in the same journal style as the most popular blogs, while others do not look any different from a regular commerical website.
At any rate, I decided to check them out. The fact that a number of blog publishers allow you to build and post your comments for free, certainly didn't hurt either.
I studied many of the blogs that are out there on the Internet, particually the ones relating to my niche. The more I read, the more I liked. I was surprised to learn that some of the top websites in my niche were actually blogs. They ranked high on Google and all of the other search engines. And no doupt, they were making sales.
Soon, I had a pretty good idea about how I was going to build my blog. I didn't want to copy the others, I just needed to get an idea of how some enterprising webmasters were creating them.
Within minutes, I had created my blog, published it on the Web, and began posting and tweaking it. I inserted some HTML code to monitor my stats, and continued to work on making it a better blog. I also continued to work on my other websites, so that whenever I do climb out of Google's sandbox, my site will get a good rating.
Not long afterwards, I made my first blog sale!
Elated, I built other blogs. The more lines you have in the water, the better chance you'll catch a fish, right? Each was slightly different than the preceeding one, but I still hawked the same products. All have links back to my "main" website, and all have brought me sales.
I might have been down, but thanks to my new-found knowledge about blogs, I wasn't out.
So, while I'm waiting to climb out of Google's sandbox, I have an ace in the hole and another up my sleeve that is continuing to make sales for me - my blog. Unknowingly, I had stumbled upon one of the best ways to get my products out there before the buying public.
What I had thought was the worse thing to happen turned out to be the best thing. Had Google not sandboxed me, I probably never would have discovered the awesome marketing power of blogs!
-------------------------------------------------------- Van Whitsett is the author of numerous articles, both online and in the print media. He has tried (and failed) a number of Internet businesses until he hit the jackpot as an affiliate for Mensniche. His website, Natural Male Enhancement has proven to him that the Holy Grail does indeed exist, and that it's possible to earn money online. --------------------------------------------------------Google Adsense Strategies and Tips
If you are in a losing rather than winning in the affiliate program you are currently promoting, maybe it is about time to consider going into the Adsense marketing and start earning some real cash.
Google is readily providing well written and highly relevant ads that are closely chosen to match the content on your pages. You do not have to look for them yourselves as the search engine will be the doing the searching for you from other people’s source.
You also don't have to spend time in choosing different kind of ads for different pages. Google makes it very easy for you, with no codes to mess around for different affiliate programs.
You will be able to concentrate on providing good and quality content, as the search engines will be the ones finding the best ads in which to put your pages on.
You are still allowed to add Adsense ads even if you already have affiliate links on your site. It is prohibited, however, to imitate the look and feel of the Google ads for your affiliate links. One of the things you can do, however, is to utilize Google's custom palette to customize your Google ads, making them to appear a part of the web page itself. The idea here is to match background and links to match the theme of your site. People on the internet today are trained to click on a link that is blue, and if your Google ads have the same theme as your web page, it makes the Google ads appear to be a portion of your "content."
You can also filter up to 200 URLs. This gives you a chance to block ads for the sites that do not meet your guidelines, and also block competitors. Remember that it is unavoidable that Adsense may be competing for some space on web sites that all other revenues are sharing.
Owners of small sites are allowed to plug a bit of a code into their sites and instantly have relevant text ads that appeal to your visitors appear instantly on your pages. If you own many sites, you only need to apply once. Then ,you are issued a unique "publisher ID", which can be used on any site you currently own. A small snippet of Javascript is placed on your site in the location you wish the ads to appear in, and generally speaking, the ads from Goggle will appear in minutes. This ends the hassle of having to apply to many affiliate programs, and keeping track of many different URL's and user ID's and passwords.
As Google ads are very easy to customize, and can be placed anywhere on your site you wish, you can experiment with placement, colors, and themes. Many tricks are available to the resourceful webmaster, including adding images in conjunction with your Google ads to make them more noticeable.
The payment rates can vary extremely. The payment you will be receiving per click depends on how much advertisers are paying per click to advertise with the use of the AdWords. Advertisers can pay as little as 5 cents and as high as $10-12, sometimes even more than that too. Some savvy lawyers are currently paying as high as $75 for advertising the keyword mesothelioma! And you, as the ad publisher, are earning a share of that money generated.
If your results remain stagnant, it can help if you try and build simple and uncluttered pages so that the ads can catch the visitor’s eyes more. It sometimes pay to differ from the usual things that people are doing already. Google has many tutorials, including a "heat chart" which shows you where the best placement for ads are. It is also a refreshing sight for your visitor once they see something different for a change.
It is still wise to look at other people’s information and format your Adsense in a like manner. A wise old business axiom is to "find a good business model, then copy it." Let others do the hard work for you, and learn from a successful site. Just think about it as doing yourself a favor by not having to work too hard to know what content to have. Look to sites that have high page rank, and carefully observe their layouts, their content, and placement of their ads. A little time spent doing research can put dollars in your pocket down the road.
Publishers have the option of choosing to have their ads displayed only on a certain site or sites. You can also have them displayed on a large network of sites if you so desire. Google now has the option to allow other people to advertise on your site. This only makes good sense. If you are marketing to a tightly defined niche, you can place your own ads, written by you, on site that allow this option. The choice is yours, depending on what you think will work best to your advantage.
It is important to note that you cannot choose certain topics only. If you do this, search engines will not place Adsense ads on your site and you will be missing out a great opportunity in making hundreds and even thousands of dollars cash.
Topics to be avoided includes gambling, firearms, ammunition, tobacco or drugs. If you are being offered more cash in exchange of doing Adsense with these kinds, it is just like signing your own termination paper.
With all the information that people need in your hands already, all you have to do is turn Google Adsense into your own cash cow. It all boils down to a win-win situation both for the content site owners and the webmasters or publishers.
